A report has alleged that the Professor Attahiru Jega-led Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was supported with over N5 billion to conduct the 2015 general elections by development partners, NAN reports.
This information was contained in a report on the last election presented by the former acting Chairman of INEC, Hajiya Amina Zakari, in Abuja on Wednesday, October 21.
The report stated that N5, 207, 260, 433 was provided by nine development partners to support some activities of the commission, adding that the sum of N165 million ($1m) was provided by the Ford Foundation to support Business Process Re-design (BPR) and Voter Education.
