Husband Kills and Buries His Friend Over Affair With His Wife

The mess of an adulterous wife! Ondo State Police Command’s detectives have arrested a middle-aged man identified as Moses Alugo, for killing and burying his friend, who allegedly slept with his wife.

Police source said that several neighbours of the deceased had told the man that his wife was usually seen with his best friend, suggesting they were having an amorous affair behind his back.

The angered husband was said to have challenged his friend who reportedly denied the allegation. He left only to return, warning his friend of dire consequence if he failed to let go his wife.
The source added that a fight ensued when he came back, leading to the death of the friend.

The case was report to the police and the man was picked up by detectives from Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, CIID, for murder.

The Secret Burial
It was gathered that the husband, after committing the crime, reportedly buried his friend at Akinpelu Camp, Ode-Aye, before the incident was reported to the Police.

The state Police Command image maker, Femi Joseph, said that before detectives could get to the scene of the crime, the killer had buried the victim.

Femi Joseph, who said the case had been transferred to the state CID for further investigation, described the incident as unfortunate and warned everyone against taking laws into their hands.

The man would be charged to court, sent to prison or killed, but the wife will be gallivanting. Wrong act!

Photos: Pastor allegedly ‘impregnates’ two sisters in Lagos

Policemen from the Oko-Oba division in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area of Lagos State last Sunday February 21st arrested the General Overseer of the Victorious Sacred Solemn Healing and Deliverance Ministry, Prophet Oluwaseyi Idowu, for allegedly impregnating two sisters.
According to our Source, the pastor was invited to set up his church and manage a flat in the two sisters’ father’s compound when he had accommodation problems in Agege.

He moved in and started having an amorous relationship with the sisters. One of their brothers narrated what happened. He said;

“I and my brothers bought my father a two-storey building in Ogunsola close, Abule-Egba and at that time, Pastor Oluwaseyi had rent issues. My father allowed him to set up his church in his compound and also manage a flat. We never knew that was the beginning of our problems. The pastor held several vigils to create awareness and public attention. As time went on, he invited people to stay in the church and from the church they moved into the main house. Occupants left the house for the pastor’s people to move in and they lived there without paying a kobo. Months later, the pastor said he wanted to marry my 20-year-old sister, a virgin, who just graduated from secondary school. We never knew he had been sleeping with her for months before then. Recently, we found out that he also impregnated my 25-year-old sister who has been indoors for the past nine months. I called my elder brother who told me to report the case to the police. It was at the police station we found out that he intended to sell our building to build a new church elsewhere.”.

One of the police officer at Oko-Oba Police Station who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said

“This is not an issue of rape; the two impregnated sisters could have resisted or lodge a complaint against the pastor; it was when they got pregnant that a complaint was sent to us and we intervened. But even if Pastor Idowu is charged to court now; it’s useless because the girls were not raped. However, the neighbours and residents at Ogunsola Close are claiming the pastor used charm to sleep with them, and that is not an issue to be resolved in the court.”

The Pastor has since relocated from the area after his church members vowed never to return to his church again.

South Africa Confirms First Zika Virus Case

A Colombian man has become South Africa’s first recorded case of the mosquito-borne Zika virus.

The businessman was found to have the disease during a visit to Johannesburg, according to South Africa’s health minister Aaron Motsoaledi.

He said the man “presented with fever and a rash approximately four days after arrival in South Africa but is now fully recovered”.

Zika has caused international alarm, with the World Health Organisation declaring it a global public health emergency earlier this month.

The virus originated in Africa but until 2007 there had been only 20 or so known human cases.

In May 2015, a case was diagnosed in Brazil and, since then, it has spread rapidly.

It is a$$ociated with neurological disorders microcephaly in babies and Guillain-Barre syndrome, which can cause paralysis.

Around 1.5 million people in Brazil have been infected in just eight months and 14 countries across South and Central America, including Barbados and Mexico, have reported locally-acquired cases.

A woman who returned to Texas from El Salvador recently gave birth to a baby affected by the virus and there is concern that native mosquitos across the southern United States could spread the virus.

For most people the virus poses little long-term risk.

But because there is no treatment or vaccine – and the consequences for unborn babies so great – health authorities in Colombia and El Salvador have advised women not to become pregnant.

Scientists are not sure why the virus is spreading so rapidly, but climate change has been suggested.

Woman Who Was Barren For 10 Years After Marriage Loses First Pregnancy to Police Brutality

A woman who spent the first ten years of her married life without a child has ended up losing her very first pregnancy to police brutality.

The Independent Service Delivery Monitoring Group (ISDMG) has appealed to the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase, to intervene in an alleged case of brutality meted out to one Mrs. Adegbite Damilola by officers of Oyo State Police Command.

ISDM Executive Director, Mr. Chima Amadi, while briefing newsmen on Friday in Abuja, alleged that Damilola lost her first pregnancy after 10 years of marriage due to police brutality.

Amadi also appealed to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to ensure that the victim got justice. He said that the incident occurred on August 11, 2015 at Akobo Police Station, Ibadan.

”The actions of the police at all stages breached legally established procedures for arrest and detention. The police breached the legal requirement that a person to be arrested must be promptly informed of his or her offence.

”The police also violated the victim’s constitutional right not to be treated in a manner that degrades her human dignity. By subjecting her to such malevolent treatment, the police already presumed her guilty and began to mete out punishment to her,” he said.

Amadi said that going by the reason which the police later gave for their unlawful arrest and maltreatment of the victim, her offence could not be anything more than malicious damage.

In her narration, Damilola, said that on August 11, 2015, a female police officer from Akobo Police Station, came to arrest her in her Ibadan residence. She said she requested to know why she was being arrested and the police woman left and came back with re-enforcements.

Damilola said that on arrival at the police station, she was told she resisted arrest and would be locked up.

”I sought to call my husband but the officers got infuriated and started beating me. I was kicked in the stomach and I started bleeding and was dragged into a cell,” she said.

Damilola said she fainted in the cell and was taken to a hospital where she was confirmed to have lost her pregnancy. She said that she later learnt that a report of removal of a signboard in her neighbourhood was brought to the station of which the complainant absolved her of involvement.

She said that two of her neighbours were later identified by the complainant as those who removed the said signboard. According to her, she was driven in police car from the hospital in the guise of going for settlement only to be taken to a Magistrates’ Court.

She said she was charged with a$$ault on a Police Officer, adding that it took the intervention of a lawyer who sympathised with her before she was granted bail.

ISDMG demanded that a public apology be tendered to the couple, among other things.

”That reasonable compensation be paid to the victim; seeing that no amount of money can bring back the couple’s lost child after ten years of waiting. That adequate punishment be meted out to the officers involved, and the information should also be made public.

”That the criminal charge brought against the victim be withdrawn by the police. We urge the inspector-general of police to also use this to demonstrate his commitment to wiping out abuse of power and brutality in the police.

”We urge that the Executive Secretary, NHRC, intervene in the matter and personally pursue this case to a logical conclusion by ensuring that justice is manifestly done,” Amadi said.

Amadi said that the police brutality was unwarranted and unjustifiable and called for appropriate disciplinary measures. He said that the Oyo State Commissioner of Police (CP) had held meetings with the parties involved to facilitate the resolution of the case.

When contacted for comments, DSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, the Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Police Command, said that the CP had ordered an investigation into the matter.

“I can a$$ure you that the victim will get justice,’’ Ajisebutu said.

What Pres. Buhari should do to recover the declining Nigerian economy – Prof. Soyinka

Professor Wole Soyinka has beckoned on President Muhammadu Buhari to convene an emergency economic conference to enable experts provide suitable solutions to the economic crisis bedeviling the country.

Soyinka proferred this solution when he paid a courtesy visit to the minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed in Abuja on Thursday,
February 18.

2016 Budget does not exceed N6.08 Trln — Minister

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said on Saturday said that the 2016 budget was not padded because the total figure voted for all ministries had not exceeded N6.08 trillion.

Briefing newsmen in Lagos, he said: “The total for every ministry has remained exactly the same as what was submitted to the National Assembly.

“A lot has been said about the budget. Let make clear that nobody can ever accuse this government of padding any budget.

“The total of all ministries put together has not exceeded N6.08 trillion that was submitted. It is factually incorrect to say that the budget was padded.

“This is the first time in the history of this country that a government will embark what is called zero based budget.

“Before now, the budget system was what was called an enveloped system. In an envelope system, there is no justification as to why we need N30 billion for a structure.’’

“This year, we decide that every ministry must have a zero based budget. In other word, you must justify and explain why you need N100 billion.

“This is very good system, the soft ware for it was also very different. The personnel were not used to it,’’

“Now, in the process we got to National Assembly. What the ministers do is to have a broad overview of the budget. The template used by the Budget Office is uniform for all ministers.’’

The minister also said exports, balance of trade, Gross Domestic Product were responsible for currency appreciation and depreciation.

“Before now we use to sell crude for about 100 dollar per barrel which means if we produce two million barrels per day, you have something in the region of 200 million dollar less the expenditure of production and others.

“But today for the same two million barrels, you have less than 60 million dollar less the cost of production.’’

“Clearly if your major source of exchange is crude and it has gone down from 100 per cent, you have lost 70 per cent of your source.

“Secondly, if your balance of trade is surplus, in other word, if you export more than you import, then you are going to have less money to settle other countries.

“What the government is doing is to ensure that the little resources we have are properly managed. Part of decision we took was Treasury Single Account.

“Others include blocking all sort form of corruption and diversify economy so that we can get foreign exchange for other sources,’’ he said.

PSquare’s family home invaded by police operatives over N8M fraud

Barely had we recovered from the family feud between the Okoye brothers which populated the social media world few days ago when another bombshell dropped revealing that the music family is currently involved in an alleged breach of contract.

Residents of Omole Estate woke up Friday morning to the invasion of the Square Villa, home of Psquare, by policemen, purportedly carrying out a court order to reclaim about N8million said to have been paid to Psquare for a show they turned down some four years ago.

A leader of the delegation who spoke exclusively to NET said they were carrying out an order passed by the Ikeja High Court, Lagos.

Although the group neither showed the court injunction nor revealed the name of the client, an eye witness said the singers appeared beaten by the situation which attracted a large crowd to their residence.

One of the duo, Paul was seen driving out of the Square Ville in a tinted BMW, refusing to speak to anyone.

There were indications that the singer was going to sort out the refund to avoid further harassment.

Man beats his mum to death two days after being released from Prison after 30-year murder sentence

Two days after completing a 30-year prison sentence for a 1984 murder conviction, a New Jersey man allegedly killed his 64-year-old mother.
On Wednesday, Steven Pratt, 47, pleaded guilty to manslaughter, admitting his role in his mother's beating death, police say.

A statement from prosecutors obtained by PEOPLE confirms Pratt, an Atlantic City resident who lived with his mother, repeatedly struck his mother Gwendolyn Pratt in the head the morning of Oct. 12, 2014. Police responded to the Pratt home that morning and found Gwendolyn's lifeless body inside.

The statement says officers immediately took Pratt into custody and an autopsy later revealed the victim died from blunt force trauma to the head.

Pratt faces 25 more years behind bars when he is sentenced within the next few months, police say.

On Oct. 10, 2014, Pratt was released from a New Jersey prison, where he'd spent the previous three decades for the fatal shooting of Michael Anderson.

When he was 15, Anderson caught Pratt smoking marijuana with friends and confronted the boy.

During that incident, Pratt struck Anderson in the face with a lead pipe. After being hit, Anderson retreated, but hours later, Pratt knocked on his apartment's door. When he opened it, Pratt shot Anderson.

How a Man Nigerian Student Strangled His Lover to Death for Ignoring Him on Valentine’s Day

A man has meted out the most heinous form of punishment to his lover on Valentine’s Day for allegedly turning down his request.

A student of Psychology Department of University of Jos, Miss Zakariah Nanchin, has been reportedly killed by a man believed to be her lover, for purportedly turning down his Valentine Day’s outing invitation.

Nanchin was allegedly strangled to death by her lover, one Badung David Dele on Monday, the day after Valentine at her Angwa Rukuba apartment in Jos.

According to our source, Dele was said to have reached out to Nanchin apparently to settle their differences and invited her out for Valentine. The deceased reportedly declined the invitation.

A source, close to the duo, said they have been in an intimate relationship for quite some time until a misunderstanding set in shortly before the last Valentine day. However, Nanchin allegedly felt that there was no basis for any dating between them having parted for some time.

Dele was said to have stormed Nanchin’s apartment the following morning and demanded an explanation why she failed to make the outing. He reportedly grabbed her by the neck and strangled her to death after which he left the apartment and reportedly told a neighbour he met outside that he wanted to go and get some medicine for his ‘ill’ friend.

He was said to have given his phone number to the neighbour, a woman, and asked her to call him in case of any emergency.

Reports say the woman perceived something fishy had transpired, so she proceeded to Nanchin’s room only to find her lying down on her bed unconscious.

The woman, simply identified as Mama Joy, said “I called her name but she did not respond so I moved closer and I discovered that she was dead.

“I ran out, screaming to alert the people around. I was shocked that the boy managed to kill this girl without a gun. There was no blood on her body,” Mama Joy added.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Abu Emmanuel, said Badung was arrested on the same day.

“After some interrogation, he confessed to have committed the crime. We are making necessary arrangements to arraign him in court soon.”

Emmanuel called out to ladies, cautioning them to be careful who they date.

“Some of these boys are criminals and you might ignorantly fall into their hands like this girl,” the PPRO said, adding that the body of the deceased had been transferred from Bingham University Teaching Hospital to the Jos University Teaching Hospital JUTH for autopsy and relevant action.

I'm not a founder or sponsor of Boko Haram sect - Ali Modu Sheriff

Former Borno governor Ali Modu- Sheriff who recently was appointed Chairman of PDP says he's not a sponsor or founder of Boko Haram. His emergence as the new PDP chairman this week was heavily criticized with Femi Fani-Kayode calling him the indisputable founder of Boko Haram.

Exonerating himself, Ali Modu- Sheriff - "Boko Haram wanted to kill me at a time because they believed that I was the one that reported them to President Umaru Yar’Adua to destroy their enclave.

"It was after I left government that they moved to their different camps and bushes. Why should they kill my brother? Why should they kill my family if I am a sponsor of Boko Haram? Is there anywhere in the world that you sponsor people to kill you?”

"Let me give you a typical example. Just a week ago, all the social media planted my picture showing me with the card of APC joining the party. At that time, nobody wrote that I was Boko Haram. They said Sheriff was going back to APC; they were showing a card when we registered with APC before I left the party. We went to our villages to do it; that village they are showing on the social media was a village that was taken over by Boko Haram for the past three years. So, how could I have gone there to register?

"Few days after I became the Chairman of the PDP, Ali Sheriff is now Boko Haram; so if you are in APC you are not a Boko Haram. Throughout my period in APC, nobody said I was Boko Haram. Immediately I left the APC, I was termed Boko Haram," he said.

"Nobody in my family or relation is Boko Haram or close to any Boko Haram member. These people that wanted to kill me, up till today, if they have the chance, they will kill me because they think I reported them to Yar’Adua who leveled their places of worship and along the line, their leader was killed.

"And that was my crime and why they wanted to kill me. But people that are afraid of me changed the story and they keep on doing it. Every day, they write different things but you and I know that nobody is above the laws of Nigeria. I believe that President Buhari, even if it is his son or blood brother that is a Boko Haram, he will arrest and prosecute him. So the allegation is the figment of the imagination of the writers," he said.

Jonathan’s abducted nephew found dead in Bayelsa creek

Mr. Samuel Oki, a 35-year-old nephew of former President Goodluck Jonathan, was on Friday found dead in a creek of Otuoke community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The deceased Oki was reportedly kidnapped on Wednesday alongside the 72-year-old foster father of Jonathan, Chief Inengite Nitabai.
It was learnt that some fishermen discovered Oki’s body floating on Otuoke River, two days after the abduction.
Some indigenes of the community said though many were not aware of Oki’s whereabouts during the Wednesday’s abduction of Nitabai, the discovery of his body (Oki) in the creek had however heightened their fears of Nitabai’s safety.
Some community members claimed that the sound of gunshot heard during the abduction of the septuagenarian might have been targeted at the deceased.
A community source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the discovery of Oki’s body had also thrown the residents into fear.
The source said, “We are worried about the safety of our uncle, Chief Inengite Nitabai. The men who abducted them have killed Oki and we pray they don’t touch our uncle.”
The deceased, according to community sources, was always seen in company with the Jonathan’s foster father.
The villagers, who were seen discussing the incident, alleged that Oki tried to resist the kidnappers.
Some claimed that they heard gunshots on Wednesday, as the kidnappers were believed to be fleeing through the waterways.
According to them, divers and local fishermen recovered the body and anchored it by the riverside to prevent the body from being carried away by water currents.
The body of Oki, it was learnt, had been deposited at a morgue.
It was further learnt that the kidnappers had yet to establish contact with the family of their hostage since Wednesday’s abduction.
This is the second time Inengite Nitabai was kidnapped.
On February 28, 2014, he was kidnapped and later freed by security forces on March 10, 2014.
It will also be recalled that Nancy Dickson, 26, the younger sister of Bayelsa State Governor, Mr. Seriake Dickson, was abducted in December 2015 and has been held captive for more than 50 days.
Dickson had, in his first term in office, signed the anti-kidnapping law that prescribes a death sentence for kidnapping. In spite of this, there have been no conviction and kidnappings have continued to thrive in the state.

Naira falls to N345/$ in parallel market

The naira, yesterday, suffered its biggest daily depreciation against the  dollar  as it exchanged for N345 to a dollar in the parallel market.

This represents N20 depreciation when compared with the closing exchange rate of N325 per dollar in the market on Friday.

But the naira was relatively stable at the official interbank foreign exchange market as the interbank rate stood at N197.47 per dollar at the close of business, yesterday.

The naira also depreciated by N45 against the British pound as the parallel market exchange rate rose to N485 per pound, yesterday, from N340 on Friday.

Bureaux de Change sources, who confirmed the development to our Source, attributed the sharp depreciation to persistent scarcity of the dollar and pound sterling in the market.

According to an Abuja-based BDC operator, who spoke on condition of anonymity, “the market is experiencing huge demand for dollars but there is no supply. Even those who have dollars are not willing to sell. The way things are going, the rate might reach N350 per dollar before it stabilises.”

This development widened the gap between the interbank rate   and the parallel market rate to N147.53 per dollar from N127.53 per dollar last week.

The naira has been on steady decline since January 12, 2016, when the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, stopped weekly dollar sale to BDCs.

Prior to this action, the naira traded at N265 per dollar in the parallel market. Consequently, the naira has depreciated by N80 in the parallel market since the CBN took the action.

The steady depreciation was also aggravated by inability of the CBN to meet foreign exchange demand. Obehi's blog source investigations reveal that the parallel market is being bedevilled by demand for foreign exchange from importers of the 41 items excluded from the official market by CBN last year as well as importers of items not excluded from the official market.

Check out how Genevieve Nnaji celebrated Valentine’s day

Beautiful actress, Genevieve Nnaji posted a selfie of how she celebrated her Valentine. God. Coffee. You.

“Love is in the air . God..coffee..you..#happyvalentinesday”

Read Paul and Anita Okoye’s love story

.
Paul Okoye of P-Square and his wife, Anita, in a new interview with Punch share their love story. Enjoy!

How did you meet your wife?

Paul: We met at the University of Abuja. I was a final year student and she was a freshman. I had a crush on a certain girl who I was supposed to meet with. But, when I called her, she told me she was at a friend’s place and invited me over. When I got there, I met Anita who was also visiting and somehow, I managed to get her telephone number. Everything changed from that moment.

How did the relationship develop?

Paul: I travelled to Lagos that day and while I was there, I constantly pestered her with telephone calls. I paid Anita a visit when I returned to Abuja, but she did not even let me into the house. The first Valentine’s Day gift I ever got her was a movie, which starred Genevieve Nnaji, because she was and is still a big fan of hers.

What qualities attracted you to each other?

Anita: I was blown away by his humility, kindness and genuine character. He is very funny and there is no airs and graces to him. He is an amazingly humble, reserved and compassionate man.

Paul: I have always liked light-skinned girls but aside from that, I have always desired an intelligent lady to complement me. She is very proactive and has the ability to produce fantastic results from simple ideas.

How long have you known each other?

Paul: We have been together for about 11 years and still counting.

Anita: Paul and I have known each other since I was 16 years old and we began dating when I was 18. I am married to my best friend and I know him much more than he knows himself and vice versa. It is such a fun-filled marriage and our son is a big blessing.

How did he propose marriage to you?

Anita: Paul took me to a jewellery store and asked me to pick any diamond ring of my choice; there were 10 rings before me. I did, and right there he dropped on one knee and popped the question. It was sudden and such a spontaneous romantic gesture. I was completely floored and all I could do was cry.

Did you date other ladies before you proposed to her?

Paul: She is the only woman I have ever loved. We started off as friends before we became partners; I don’t consider us to be in a relationship and that is why I describe her as my partner and a very important part of my life.

Did any member of your families oppose your relationship?

Paul: Not really, but her dad did not show any enthusiasm the first time I met with him. He did not say anything relating to my looks but I knew he was not happy that I had dreadlocks on and wore earrings. I had already established a relationship with her mum because she always visited while Anita was in school. Today, we have become really close.

Is there anything you wish you did better at the outset of your relationship?

Paul: I wish I was rich when I was in the university. She did quite a lot for me while I was in the university and that is one of the reasons I do all the things I do for her.

How did you adjust to life as a married woman?

Anita: There wasn’t much of an adjustment really. We have always been inseparable and that helped to solidify our relationship.

Do you have access to each other’s phone and social media accounts?

Paul: We have our phones and I do not know what she does on social media. Mistrust is one the reasons marriages break down. She answers my telephone only when I ask her to and not at her discretion.

What would you like to change about your husband?

Anita: I don’t think there is anything I want to change about my husband. He is a wonderful father and husband. No matter the flaws he has (that is if he has any, as I can’t think of one), that is what makes him Paul Okoye.

How do you spend time together as a couple?

Paul: We have regular lunch dates, especially after church on Sundays. We always spend time together when I am not in the studio or on tour. We also like to travel during festive seasons. Sometimes, my wife and son travel with my brother’s family, so that Peter and I can work.

What hobbies do you have in common?

Paul: I sing and she does not. I play musical instruments and she does not. However, she has her way with food and cooking. We have different preferences when it comes to food.

Anita: We are quite an active couple. We love sports, riding bicycles, beach volleyball, running around with our son, niece and nephew and generally just goofing around. We also love watching CNN, Comedy Central and crime channels together.

Do you operate a joint bank account?

Paul: We have our separate accounts, including my son but my wife is aware of very single transaction that takes place in these accounts. However, I remit a certain amount to her every month.

Do you get jealous of her male admirers?

Paul: It is normal. Sometimes, when we go to the club, some guys try to woo her and I have a way of warding them off just with a stare. But that shows she is beautiful. No one will approach you if you are not beautiful. My wife has her fans and she knows I have more fans than she does.

Why do you think most celebrity marriages break up?

Paul: To understand the reason, you must understand the woman’s reason for getting married to a celebrity. People must be aware of the consequences of getting married to a celebrity, so they have to face it. Some celebrity marriages do not last because the spouses try to take the career away from their celebrity spouse. There are things I do that get my wife angry but all I do at times like that is apologize to her and talk things over. Marriage is a sacrifice and you have to prepare for it.

What are the major reasons why you both disagree?

Anita: We have very different views when it comes to fashion, style and interior decoration.

How do you make up after a misunderstanding?

Paul: I always apologise first, whether I am wrong or not. I do not like to keep malice. I would rather leave the scene of a heated argument than continue talking and end up bitter. I would return to talk things over, when the environment is calm.

Anita: We usually laugh it off, but because I trained as a lawyer, I always want to make some very valid points.

What pet names do you call each other?

Anita: It is for our ears only.

Paul: She calls me Bulus and I have asked her to stop it. I call her Hani‑— a fusion of Honey and Anita.

How do you manage the fame and attention that comes with your current status?

Anita: For a very long time, I tried to stay away from the media. Our engagement and wedding finally put a face to the name ‘Anita’. When people ask if I am P-Square’s wife, I just laugh and tell them I am Paul’s wife. At work, I’m a regular employee until my husband decides to surprise me during lunch and my colleagues go crazy and take several photographs. So far, I have managed being his wife very well. I have my little group of friends and still do everything I did before the P-Square ‘takeover.’

What does Valentine mean to you and how do you intend to celebrate the day?

Paul: For us, every day is Valentine’s Day because we never fail to express our love for each other every day. Today, I will simply reassure her of my unflinching love and support in more ways than one.t

‘Nigeria Will Burn If I Open Up On Arms Deal’ – Ex-ADC of Jonathan

Former aide-de-camp to former president Goodluck Jonathan, Col. Ojogbane Adegbe has said another Dasukigate may be imminent if he reveals what transpired in that administration.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) picked up Adegbe on Wednesday in Lagos where he was interrogated before he was flown to Abuja yesterday.

It was gathered that ongoing interrogation of the former ADC by operatives of the EFCC could open up a new can of worms, which “could surpass what is now called Dasukigate.”

In December 2015, the Department of State Security (DSS) arrested Jonathan’s National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki and turned him over to the EFCC over his role in the $2.1 billion arms purchase scandal.

The money, meant to purchase arms for the military fighting insurgency in the North-East, was allegedly diverted by the office of the NSA as 2015 campaign funds for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which was the ruling party then.

EFCC sources said the former ADC may soon give details of all he knows with regards to financial transactions and the dramatic personae involved in the last administration.

Preliminary findings, including recovered documents, were said to have hinted of large-scale questionable expenditure with funds sourced from and outside the arms purchase deals.

Another source said “most of the funds were reportedly diverted soon after the election was postponed from the originally scheduled date of February 14, 2015 to March 28, 2015…”

Among the active participants in the alleged sleaze, was a top official of an agency set up to discourage militancy in the South-South, who is currently outside the country.

At the centre of the interrogation of the former ADC, who has been moved to Abuja, Daily Sun gathered, was the “mind-boggling spending” during the two weeks’ extension of the general election, “which runs into several trillions of naira, when converted from foreign currency.”

Sources said many top Nigerians, “including some very close persons” to the former president, may likely be called to explain and defend their roles in the handling of the funds, a chunk of which was sourced from the agency.

Buhari vs Oshiomhole: SEE What They Both Think About Devaluing The Naira

As the the naira continues to plummet the call for its devaluation surges high among experts. They believe that devaluation is the only way out for Nigeria. Devaluation simply is the deliberate act by the CBN to reduce the value of the naira. To have a better understanding of the naira devaluation brouhaha, OBEHI'S BLOG has put together in this piece the stance of President Buhari and Governor Oshiomhole’s on the issue….

President Muhammadu Buhari, while speaking in Kenya, said export-driven economies could devalue their currencies and not an import-dependent economy like Nigeria. Devaluation, he said, would result in further inflation and hardship for the poor and the middle class in Nigeria. He said he had no intention of bringing further hardship on the poor who, he believes, have suffered enough. Also in France last September, Buhari said: “I do not think it is healthy for us to get the naira devalued. The Central Bank is providing ample foreign exchange (forex) to essential services and industries.”

Gov Adams Oshiomhole speaking at the Cable Colloquium, a programme organised by THE CABLE on Channels TV to discuss whether or not the naira should be devalued on February 11 said the issue of devaluation of the naira would not have surfaced at all if oil prices have not fallen drastically, adding that investment bankers are the ones calling for its devaluation.

Oshiomhole explained that when naira is devalued, prices of foreign goods (which Nigerians mainly consume) will increase and the idea of naira devaluation is to force Nigerians to stop consuming foreign goods and focus on becoming a producing nation, because Nigerian made goods will be cheaper and more sorted after. The governor however noted that it has not worked in Nigeria as no matter how expensive foreign goods are in Nigeria, some will still go ahead and buy.

Oshiomhole also noted that the in 2014, when the naira was devalued, rather than have an increase in export, we had an increase in imports. On a final note he said, the true value of naira is what it can get you in the local market not otherwise.

Married Man Believes He’s Pregnant After Having G@y S.ex

An Indian man, 52, was hospitalized by a psychiatrist after his insistence that he had been impregnated after having a homosexual encounter, Times of India reports.

The unnamed father of two had told his family that he could feel a baby moving around in his abdomen.

Gay

He was then taken to a hospital in Kunhitharuvai Memorial Charitable Trust Medical College where the psychiatric doctors concluded that he was suffering from “delusions” spurred by his secret sexual relationship with another man. He admitted to doctors that his belief followed a homosexual encounter.

Speaking on the rare incident, Dr PN Suresh Kumar – Head of the Doctors – said:

“We never came across this sort of case before. He was an active homosexual in his adolescent years which may contributed to his beliefs. But, his homosexuality did not affect his marriage,”

“Usually, we see couvade syndrome in some dads-to-be who show certain symptoms of pregnancy (like nausea, weight gain or sleep problems) when their partners get pregnant.”

Dr Kumar says that there didn’t seem to be any gender identity disorders and test results came back normal, despite the delusion which the patient’s doctor said started six months ago.

“The patient went for counseling and took Risperidone. This delusion was cured due to the medical intervention. After a series of counseling sessions, he stopped indulging in homosexual activities. Now, the patient is recovering and we are measuring his progress during periodic check-ups.”

Risperidone is commonly used to treat psychosis in schizophrenic and bipolar patients.
